Where to Turn When We Can’t Help

Outreach on 7th is here every weekday for lunch, once a month for the Essentials Pantry, and around the clock through our outdoor food pantry box. But needs don’t always keep our hours, and some, like shelter, medical care, or a crisis, are beyond what we can offer ourselves. When that happens, we want you to know where to turn. Here are a few places we trust, and our Resources page has the full list.

  • Emergency: call 911.
  • Common Ground crisis line: 800-231-1127, 24/7. You can also call or text 988 any time.

Not sure where to start?

Call the Oakland Connects Helpline at 800-848-5533, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., or email OCHelpline@oaklandcountymi.gov. Oakland County’s team can help with housing, shelter, food, health, and more in one call, including help using Shelter Oakland.

Hours and programs change, especially in winter, so please call ahead to confirm hours. If you know a resource we should add, tell us through our contact page. Our neighbors deserve compassion, dignity, and support every hour of the day.
